SUMMER SEASON: A Series of Nine Solo Exhibitions at OOF Gallery

This summer, we’re filling the spaces of our Grade-II listed gallery with a series of solo shows by some of our favourite young artists. Football is at the heart of all of these new commissions, but each artist has taken it in their own direction. These exhibitions tackle topics like sexuality, race, tradition, rivalry and the pure passion of football, all from totally unique perspectives.

In gallery one, Jakob Rowlinson's tapestries and hand-embroidered club crests blend football iconography with queer references and quasi-religious imagery. Gallery two is filled with the West African street photography and bootleg football shirt obsessions of French-Malian artist Émile-Samory Fofana. Upstairs, gallery three is home to Shannon Bono's beautiful new paintings inspired by footballer Chioma Ubogagu.
